Although I do NOT completely agree with everything in this article, it does make a point. Something like Copernicus telling the Catholic Church to stop telling people that the world is flat and that the Sun revolves around the Earth.
Is it really necessary to have 174 military bases (and the associated cost) around the world? What exactly are we paying for? Security? We need to climb out of this military-industrial complex but sadly I believe it's too late.
